    Welcome to the forum!!!
  4. I was told Pike have a very earthy taste and so do not make good eating ,don't know myself as i wouldn't consider it but seen as the info came from my grandparents who did eat them then i'll take there word for it! As for the fish being for the pot, I would have to say that this is very likely and you can go on any forum to find this going on everywhere If anyone see's this happening then they should contact the EA a.s.a.p Good on ya Ken!!! You must have the permission of the owner or whoever controls the water to take fish from it!!!
  5. How does anyone actually go about purchasing a fishery? How do you go about funding it? (savings, money from the sale of a business or the banks ect) Ect. Ect. I would say that most people who love their fishing want their own lake, river ect. (living the dream) but how many of us would know how to go about it? Are there any fishery owners or ex owners on the forum that could give us an insight into this interesting subject!
  6. Cheers guy's, I was thinking maybe the Daiwa Regal Plus 4000BRI,4500BRI or 5000BRI? Daiwa Emcast EC reel? I also like the look of the Wychwood Extremis Freespin Reels? So many choices of reels!!! does anyone else have any recommendations?
  7. How about here http://merringtoncarpfishery.co.uk/
  8. Get yourself some forceps, much easier to use for a beginner when removing hooks!
  9. Does anyone own or know if the Daiwa Regal BRI reels and the Wychwood carp reels are any good? Want a decent set of reels, would love some Shimano ones but the prices are a little rich for me All help greatly appreciated
  10. Lovely fish mate,I assume from what your saying that fish caught over there would be eaten and not put back?
  11. Disagree with the last bit as with the right rig you can fish close to lilly pads or in them with the rod!!! I have used a pole for years and they are good (had carp to 14lb on one) but you have much more control with a rod and I prefer to feel the fish, play it accordingly,it just feels right and better with a rod. Just my opinion but I am right
  12. I use a towel to wipe my hands if i'm still fishing,if i'm going to eat owt then i clean them with baby wipes and have some antiseptic gel that i rub on to my hands. The only time i rarely use a towel is if i'm wearing my waterproof trousers and then i wipe my hands on them.
  13. Rustam, If you have paid through Paypal you should get a receipt of this transaction from Paypal via email,if not then the transaction won't have gone through.
  14. Try here for a brand new, cheap and massive bivvy! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SHAKESPEARE-CYPRY-EX...1QQcmdZViewItem
  15. Have a look at the TFG one for £99.99 it's very easy to put up in seconds and great value for money!!! http://www.fishtec-coarse.co.uk/ProductsIn...=40&cat=249
  16. I see what your saying Peter but just because they are not native species doesn't mean they shouldn't be treated with the respect due of any living creature, maybe it's time someone championed their cause on your side if the pond.
  17. Do you have a set way of going about fishing a new water or do you just decide on the bankside?
  18. Nice Carp but how the fish are handled is not good for them, you should never hold them by it's mouth as it's bad for the fish, because it's internal organs tend to get piled on top of each other & can get damaged. Think fish welfare even if you consider them to be a nuisance fish, please don't give the anti angling brigade any more ammo. Just my opinion!!!
  19. Corn or bread i've found are the best bait for Carp!
  20. I would be interested in all the details ect for making a bait boat, how's it all coming along?
