I wanted to buy a rod from them and i live just 2 mins away from them in Holton -le- clay.

They said i could not collect it and would have to buy it mail order through the post.

So they were going to post it and it would have gone about 40 odd miles to Doncaster sorting office afore being sent back again to my home Address not 2 miles from where they posted it from in the first place

And for that i would have been charged a fiver!

I told them to forget it and they lost a lot of sales becouse i dident buy from them again nor any of my fishing buddies.

I'm going to buck the trend here, I bought an umbrella from Badger as the umbrella was exactly what I wanted and the price was about £20.00.

Delivery was within 3 days and I am delighted with the product!!!

Just checking, Klein - has it rained since you bought it ? :D

I can't comment on anything other than their stainless steel banksticks. They were very good quality, and at an incredible price.

I agree that some of Badger's stuff is excellent quality and outstanding value, but some is not! And that is part of the problem. You really do need to look at the tackle before buying. I visited the Badger stand at Chatsworth last year. The prices were incredible and some, such as the Sounion reels, and brollies, were amazing quality. The biggest gripe I hear of is the service.

Just goes to show chaps, you can't beat visiting your tackle shop for a "touchy feely" before handing over your hard earned dosh.

Tackle shops are closing as fast as post offices mainly due to the attraction of mail order firms.

Most tackle shops will be fairly flexible with the price of their gear and most will match if not beat quoted prices.

Remember, if you only use your local tackle shop for maggots they aint gonna do much business and will eventually be forced to close. I think most shops are struggling as it is.

I Agree,Townlad.I very rarely use mail order, prefer to go to the tackle shop.It was a last minute thing; My daughter wanted to buy it(I was in need of a new roller)and it looked good, and it was easy for her to order online.

Im on my third e.mail to them plus a letter, still no reply   .

Hi Bradford Angler,The Roller is a tripod affair with extending legs,ie the outerleg slides up and down and locks into place with a screw wheel. The area where the screw wheel tightens has sheersd away from the body.Apart from that the actual rollers supplied were total crap.As i have already said i for one wont give them my custom again.
