if im not mistaken they also have one of the largest armies in the world i think that id=f they are included in europe that america would feel more threatened.

The salary of the chief executive of a large corporation is not a market award for achievement. It is frequently in the nature of a warm personal gesture by the individual to himself.

I personally hope that they don't join, but only because I wouldn't want the Euro to ruin Turkeys tourist appeal.

I had an amazing two week holiday there. The people were lovely, the history and scenery was breathtaking, and you could get a pint for 500,000 Turkish Lira.

Its worth bearing in mind here that £1.00 = 1,000,000 Turkish Lira

Cheap beer anyone :D:D:D

I'm sure it won't be that cheap if they ever take on the Euro. Shame

When you consider the number of Gastarbeiten in Germany, you could reasonably believe that the Turks were already reaping the benefits of EU membership.

Before people start criticising Turkey's human rights record, they should look a lot closer to home.

This is a signature, there are many signatures like it but this one is mine

"Less than 5% of the country is actually in Europe."

There has to be a limit to the number of countries in the union.

Surely that restriction should be the physical boundaries of Europe.

If wecarry on the way we are going Russia will be in and eventually China.

I'm not sure about Russia, but what about the Ukraine?

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.
