Lockerbie Bomber Freed

I'm sure the innocent relatives of the ones that were killed are reading the same information as all on the internet. This bit below dosn't really help in the argument that the man had nothing to do with the killings. Along with the fact that libya gave them millions of pounds in compensation. He also went through an appeal after the court case and this was denied. Don't it tell you something. Don't it start your bells ringing?

He described himself as the former director of Libya's Centre for Strategic Studies, a role which - the FBI claimed - gave him cover to act as an intelligence officer for the Libyan Intelligence Services (JSO).

Despite Megrahi's denials, this was accepted by judges who tried him.

But it was his appointment as chief of security for Libyan Arab Airlines (LAA) which, prosecutors successfully argued, allowed him to carry out the bombing.

LAA had an office in Malta, where Libyans were able to move freely. From there, Megrahi was able to use as many as four false passports to travel to Zurich, where the timing device for the bomb was made, and Tripoli.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Yeah, they should have let Texas try him. they'll kill anyone, mentally ill, children, innocent, all the same to them <_<

I seem to remember fairly recently dozens of healthy American funded IRA killers being set free into the arms of their ecstatic supporters.

Should have had them tried in Texas.

And don't forget that Libya is down at the head with crude oil and natural gas.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Spare a thought also for a wpc, used to be known as Yvonne Fletcher.

Nobody has ever been convicted of her murder, though after 15 years the Libyan government finally accepted responsibility for her death and agreed to pay compensation to her family.[2]

Libya has done what it needed to do to get sanctions lifted so that it could sell its oil. What they have paid out is a drop in the ocean compared to what they will get in sales and they would probably have paid it even if they weren't responsible.

I don't think it unreasonable that Libya should pay compensation to IRA victims, as long as USA (funding) Saudi Arabia (funding and training) Russia (training) and many other countries take equal responsibility.

In his pariah years Qaddafi was fond of claiming responsibility for lots of things that he had nothing to do with, that way he got all of the kudos and none of the risk.

Its a good job they weren't tried in New York they wouldn't have even been found guilty in the first place there (try googling NORAID and The Irish Freedom Commitee as examples of why)

Well, well, that would mean then our brown and business secretary, mandy, instead of busting their gut to see the sanctamonious head of a state sanctioned, run terrorist organisation, directly before ali's release that is, all they did was to meet an absolute stark raving looney despot then?

How strange, didn't realise our pm and co could be so stupid. B)

Got any instances of these bullshine claims of gaddafi then.

I would also say that he was lucky he never got something dropped on his head then.

Your not wrong.

This from the same country that said releasing the Libyan would offer encouragement to terrorists.

INA supports rights of former IRA Prisoners

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - May 26 2008

Contact: Matt Morrison, (314) 727.7119

FORMER IRA PRISONERS IN THE US CALL FOR FINAL RESOLUTION OF LEGAL STATUS; IRISH AMERICAN GROUPS UNITED IN SUPPORT

May 26, 2008— As the peace process in the north of Ireland continues to unfold, a group of former IRA prisoners now living in the United States is launching a campaign to bring a permanent resolution to their legal status in the U.S. Irish American Unity Conference (IAUC) president Kate McCabe, Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) president Jack Meehan, and Irish Northern Aid (INA) president Paul Doris today declared their enthusiastic support for the newly formed “Thar Saile.”

Paul Harkin, vice president of the IAUC and a former prisoner himself, announced the formation of Thar Saile, Irish for “Overseas.” Thar Saile is made up of former prisoners, many of whom have faced deportation, who have been peacefully and productively living, working, and raising families in the US for decades. Many are married to American wives and are the fathers of American born children.

In one of his last acts before leaving office in 2000, President Clinton announced that deportation proceedings against these men would be halted and they would move into “deferred action” status. This action was hailed both as a victory for the Irish American community and as a part of the peace dividend for those courageously working to end the ongoing conflict in the north of Ireland. It has become clear, however, that this remains unfinished business.

“The status of these men is unclear and ambiguous,” said Harkin. “We cannot travel back to Ireland to visit family; work permit renewals are an ongoing problem, frequently jeopardizing employment; and the deferred action umbrella did not cover all of the former prisoners in the U.S., some of whom are still living in the shadows.”

The IAUC has released a document entitled “Prisoners of Peace.” This document makes the case that reintegration of former prisoners is a first and critical step in any peace process. Ironically, in the north of Ireland, former prisoners are holding elected office and working together to build a new society. Only in the U.S. is their status still unresolved.

The objective of Thar Saile is to end the uncertainty for these men and their families by providing them with a permanent legal status and the right to live, work, and travel unencumbered. Thar Saile will launch a broad-based education and communication campaign around this issue and will work with their supporters around the US to bring this issue to the attention of all major political candidates.

These scumbags weren't released on compassionate grounds, they were released on grounds of expediency following political pressure from American interests. They were then given the freedom to live in America and father American born children. How sweet! It redefines hypocrisy.

Well, Tripoli is in Libya so no great surprises there ;)

But it does set my bells ringing to hear that an article of clothing that was wrapped around a bomb can be traced to an individual shop in Malta. And that the co-manager of the shop could indentify the purchaser of that specific item on a specific day, some years later (business must have been really sloooow in that shop). Except, of course, that he didn't. His original description did not resemble Megrahi. He changed his tune later. Allegedly $2million was involved.

It also rings my bells that the scrap of bomb timer circuit board was never tested for explosives residue. How can that be?

And this sets my bells ringing quite loudly --

"American intelligence documents blaming Iran for the Lockerbie bombing would have been produced in court if the Libyan convicted of Britain’s worst terrorist attack had not dropped his appeal. "

here

(that hotbed of radical conspiracy theory, The Times ;) )

Megrahi was a patsy, for whatever deep political or economic reason.
