i've got an analogue canon eos600 with a couple of decent lenses, and an olympus 5megapixel digi, thats the perfect mix for me, digi for the point and shoot, and film for the more considered shots, digi still cant match a decent film camera.

The biggest drawback with digital that I've found is in contrast and exposure latitude, it's almost like using slide film when it comes to exposure latitude - very tight!

Not quite. Resolution of most monitors is fixed at around 72 dpi.

its all to do with pixels the smaller the pixel the better the detail ,you get what you pay for a cheap monitor has larger pixels .

with smaller pixels the more accurate the electron guns need to be so it costs more

with a plasma screen its the same less the guns
