Manly rod names, do we need them?

I think we're applying too much man thought to it now you mention it Budgie. Let's view it from my wife's point of view..............hmmm............no...............aah!....no...........err....gottit!... (Fanfare of trumpets) "The rod"

How did I come to that? I just analysed some of the wife's comments over the years.

"How many rods do you need?" What's the matter with the one I got you for christmas/birthday?" "My Dad only had one rod" "Is this rubbish now?" (after I'd carefully removed the rings from an 1890s Hardy fly rod and leant the cane sections against the wall prior to stripping and steaming them straight). etc. etc.

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

That's the stuff Worms now were really thinking outside of the bag!

"The Waste of money" is one that comes immediately to my mind now you've focused it for me!

Im interested though can our ladies tell me if women anglers can have the same obsession with tackle that some of us guys do? Do "Tackle Tart Tarts" exist?

Surely the "Shoe Syndrome" proves that they have the potential?

Is that a description of Budgie?

Janet

No.

It isn't.

Although it might be something Budgie is responsible for when I see him sneaking into the bushes with a trowel.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music
