"New Fish" The flipside.

OK, we're doing the hyperthetical thing again and logic say's that if there's a species that you love but can't have there must be at least one that you've got but can't stand.

So if you had your way, what fish would instantly vanish from British waters at the bush of a button ?

We'll play fair and allow one each from running and still waters.

My choices are pretty obvious for anyone that's followed my posts but I'll hold back on revieling them for the moment.

Species caught in 2020: Barbel. European Eel. Bleak. Perch. Pike.

Species caught in 2019: Pike. Bream. Tench. Chub. Common Carp. European Eel. Barbel. Bleak. Dace.

Species caught in 2018: Perch. Bream. Rainbow Trout. Brown Trout. Chub. Roach. Carp. European Eel.

Species caught in 2017: Siamese carp. Striped catfish. Rohu. Mekong catfish. Amazon red tail catfish. Arapaima. Black Minnow Shark. Perch. Chub. Brown Trout. Pike. Bream. Roach. Rudd. Bleak. Common Carp.

Species caught in 2016: Siamese carp. Jullien's golden carp. Striped catfish. Mekong catfish. Amazon red tail catfish. Arapaima. Alligator gar. Rohu. Black Minnow Shark. Roach, Bream, Perch, Ballan Wrasse. Rudd. Common Carp. Pike. Zander. Chub. Bleak.

Species caught in 2015: Brown Trout. Roach. Bream. Terrapin. Eel. Barbel. Pike. Chub.

Sorry Ken,

Can't see the logic there mate... Do you really mean the fish themselves or the people that fish for them?

Not fish as such, but I'd love to see the back of Signal Crayfish and that bloody coot that had a liking for my bait this weekend.

I THINK SIMON WAS RIGHT, ON FIRST THOUHT I DECIDED CARP, BU THEN I THOUGHT, HANG ON A MINUTE THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH CARP, ITS SOME CARP ANGLERS WHICH I CAN'T STAND, AND PEOPLE WHOM THROW IN HORRENDOUS AMMOUNTS OF BAIT!! i DONT LIKE THE LOOK OF THE STUNTED COMERCIAL WATER CARP OR THE BIG POT BELLIED CARP, AND TENCH FOR THAT MATTER, BUT OTHER THAN THAT I LIKE ALL FISH!!

gotta disagree there chris, bleak have saved many a christmas chear match from being alot less than chearful, and bull heads were what got me interested in fishing in the first place....

ruffe on the other hand...........mmmmmmmmm...now that one may be closer to the mark.

Signal Crayfish.........totally agree

Cormarants.......I did read that up until the 60's numbers were limited by the removal of eggs from nests, couldn't that be looked at again???? I understand that for a national cull to be effective we'd need to wipe out nearly a third of the population, which wouldn't get support from many quarters except anglers.

Den (say what you like but the guy has balls :D )

"When through the woods and forest glades I wanderAnd hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees; When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur,And hear the brook, and feel the breeze;and see the waves crash on the shore,Then sings my soul..................
