I wish I was "nearly fifty" - am actually nearer to 100 than 50 - so many fish, so little time

...and no pot noodle has ever passed my lips.

guilty when it comes to pot noodles but i have never (ever) tasted a pizza (the names nonsense anyway) i believe the toppings are collected from outside pubs and take aways on sunday mornings the fact they are regurgitated probably add something nutrition wise i suppose.

if i wanted to eat to eat toasted cheese i would eat cheese on toast.

talking of romper suits here a true tale from my past

as a spotty youth i went fishing all weekend (i wish i could do it today :( ) anyway then Keston was the place where you could get away night fishing (when the perv wasnt about!) an 11 year old was ripe pickings! and pocket money didnt extend to joining the local club

anyway i had a very nice "romper" suite made of some grey material but one piece with a hood ,warm but not too waterproof as stuff tended to be then.

anyways after a hectic weekend of catching nothing but mozzie bites i was walking home in drizzle (keston to burnt ash hill was a hefty walk!) my already upset stomach (marmite sarnies ,eating iffy bread bait and pond water not ideal) i was suddenly hit with an intense need to have a crap.

Luckily then the roads were quiet so i nipped over a fence unbuttoned my romper suite and let fly almost before i bent down!

five seconds later feeling much better i did the business with some bracken and quickly put my suite back on ,as i pulled up the hood i felt a strange warmness ,yep i had crapped in the hood

but worse still i still had miles to walk ,i did my best with yet more bracken but it taught me to look behind before and after you use natures bathroom

i managed to get past mum to my room but i could distinctly hear her sniffing for some time ,i dropped my suite out of the back window and when she went into the front room i dashed downstairs and washed it and my hair in the outside bog (never had an inside loo nor bathroom til i was 17) then had to get back upstairs and dry off

PS what do you think of the Drennan Avon/Quiver?

I love it, the rod’s very versatile. Mines the 1¼lb TC which is about right for the locations I fish. It hasn't had the use it deserves so far because of my stubborn insistence that trotting is the only way to fish for any species whatever the weather or conditions. This winter though I want to broaden my horizons a bit so I’ll be trying a couple of more static sessions (not too many mind).

It's never a 'six', let's put it back

Stu, you may be at the start of a slippery slope, are you sure you want to try one :D

Hi Dales,

I've had plenty of Pot Noodles, just never thought of taking one on my fishing trips! :) ....not only have I had pot noodles (and I feel I am about to get abused for what I'm about to say) but when I eat them I also make pot noodle sandwiches! 2 slices of bread, fill it with hot pot noodle, chicken and mushroom of course, and then eat it... sorted! :D

Don't knock it until you've tried it ;)

Cheers,

Stu...

Have to agree with Stu there... A hot pot noodle sandwich is the best - you have to make sure your bread is buttered too :)

Im a fan of most flavours but dont tend to use the little sachet of sauce!

Pot noodle is definately going in my bag for the next fishing trip, never thought of it before

A serious topic.

Now that winter is approaching the old pot noodle will be making it into my tackle bag for day trips as well as long stay sessions. I only like one flavour the Chinese Chow Mein, but am interested does any one else partake of this wonderful delicacy while on the banks.

A serious topic indeed!Chicken+Mushroom every time.Filled to the brim of the pot with scalding water.Finish the noodles, left with a 'delicious' drink of, erm... flavoured water. At this point, a packet of Cheesy Wotsits is added!Yes,really.Cutlery required.

In life we all have an unspeakable secret, an irreversible regret, an unreachable dream and an unforgettable love.
