SHARING THE ROAD WITH CYCLISTS

Recommended Posts

Getting back to cyclists, can any of you who use said pollution causing methods of transport please tell me why they wont use a cycle lane but are happy to hop up onto the pavement at anytime it is advantageous.

And Elton, You need to add....

When you have a cycle undertaking you, he is likely to suddenly swerve in front of you to get past the Artic in front, at the same time as keeping close attention to this cyclist, remember to pay attention to your offside for the cyclist that has overtaken the Artic behind you, who may swerve behind you to undertake you. Also remember at all times to use the eyes in the back of your head to keep track of cyclists remaining in your blind spots.

And be prepared to be blamed for everything cyclists do wrong!

Just remember it's the motorists fault for everything that goes wrong in this world!

What a strange world we live in where all cyclists are demonised just because a number choose to cylce poorly and ignore the highway code. I'll bet my bottom dollar that nearly every motorist speeds every time they drive, but very few complain about this, although this is breaking the law on a daily basis.

And then we have the drivers who use their non hands free mobile phone users. Are they simply very stupid; or perhaps have a death wish?

The traffic laws as they apply to cyclists need clarification and strictly enforcing.

Cycling in pedestrian precincts, through red traffic lights, on pavements, wrong way up a one way street, the list of dangerous manoeuvres is endless.

They also should be required to have road tax and be insured.

The really amusing part is how these parasites blatantly break the law and yet project themselves as conservation conscious saviours of the Universe.

I see 'parasites' in cars blatantly breaking the law outside my gaff every day by speeding past my front door at 40-55 MPH in a 30MPH zone. Why is it that I travel all artound Europe and only hear UK car drivers whinging about cyclists? For what its worth I don't think that any of us should pay road tax, if the Frogs can give it up so can we. Edited by corydoras

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Another example of the inequitable tolerance shown to this underclass.

I must be the only one who sees cyclists regularly on their mobiles and (as I live in a very rural location) tossing their plastic water bottles on the verges.

You still see the odd person in a car using a mobile, but the number of people using them while driving vans is shocking. I don't understand why someone whose licence is his livelihood wouldn't have a hands free kit.

Mind you, I've also seen the odd plonker on his mobile while riding a pushbike. Now that's dumb.

i see plenty ,laws are only any good when they are enforced ,last saw a copper around here last year.what annoys me is police cars are full of distracting bits of kit but seemingly they are above the law just as they seemingly can park anywhere they please and tell people what to do on a whim :(

That is just plain stupid. The rules of the road should apply to everyone.
