Just wondering which weather sites people are using these days?

 

I used to use Metcheck but it's hit and miss these days, more often than not a miss.

 

Met office seems more reliable at present.

Also use Met Office, not always spot on but gives a decent idea. I tend to be locked in to which days I fish and so go regardless of what the weather is going to be.

Being a bit of a weather nut I dip into a plethora of weather sites almost daily!! Met office and the Met Office beta site are usually 1st ports of call - especially for rain radar & sattelite imagery. Metcheck - for a laugh at their long range forecasts - though often not too bad at under 48hrs out. BBC is OK but not updated enough times. If theres rain around then Meteox and the IOW ligthning detector site will also get a look in for a Europe wide perspective.....

I use different sites for different purposes. Met Office is pretty good, I particularly like the *invent weather* maps

 

I never liked Metcheck very much, it always seemed to be way off the mark for this immediate area.

 

If any of you actually pay for Metcheck services you might like to check google for info about the owner.

I've given up completely on Metcheck. It used to be excellent but for the areas I use it for it's just always wrong.

 

The BBC site is good, as is the Met Office and Weather Underground for longer range forecasts. I look at all 3 and pick the best :rolleyes:

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

I like TheWeatherOutlook site and NetWeather both have forums and have indepth discussion on the weather model runs,plus you can get an idea of what the coming season might bring.

When i gave you guys the nod on the bad winter spell we had in January 2010 i picked that up from the forum discussion and a American forcaster called Joe Bastardi.I find the Metoffice ok for about 6 hours forecasts,they seem to be more worried about whats going to happen in 100 years rather than what happening today or this week.

concentrate for the moment: feel. don't think.
