Mmmmmm, bread and dripping (and a good sprinkling of salt), used to love that when I was a kid.

Refined dripping is no good. It needs to be the dripping from your own roasts.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

The only place I have found decent dripping is the homemade stuff in Romania, you put on weight instantly and you have a heart attack within 10 minutes if its really good stuff!

My stepfather used to buy it in tubs, with the jellied stock underneath the fat.

Saturated animal fat spread on white bread and sprinkled with salt - I wish innate human food preferences were less attuned to what was scarce when we were hunter gatherers and more to what won't put us in an early grave in industrialised society. If it's delicious, it's probably bad for you in any quantity.
