Smelly Washing Machine.

Recommended Posts

Before you do that try a boil wash with a big bottle of white distilled vinegar instead of the bleach. Sounds daft but it fixed ours when we had the same problem.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

Nobody's pointed out the obvious cause...

...you're an angler. You're supposed to stink.

:)

I would suggest that if the machine is emptying then it is unlikely to be the pump at fault. Have you checked the waste pipe? does it have a "U" bend? is the drain the waste pipe discharges into clear?

Washing machines have a habit of furring up waste pipes, I have seen quite a few cases where the waste pipe was almost solid! The reason I always fitted a detachable coupling when installing a washing machine waste.

Before you start trying to fix it I suggest you have a look around t'internet and find out how the case comes apart. I once fannied about replacing stuff on mine via the opening at the bottom and then later found out that by removing a couple of well hidden screws I could remove the rear half of the case and have easy access to the whole mechanism

I believe that I have resolved the problem.

After checking the filter again I got a high powered hose and fired it down the external waste pipe and water exit pipe into the machine.

Something made a thud sound in the machine, I then set the machine to a boil wash. I used vinegar as suggested.

The result is that the smell has disappeared, for now at least.

Perhaps a clog from the Bioloical powder?

Anyway thankyou all for your help and advice in this matter.

We had that problem, smellies didn't help either, to counteract the pong. We had the engineer round and he said there was muck in the filter outlet pipe and that the sewerage system outside our house was a problem as the water was coming back down our pipe cos the sewer was blocked further down the row of houses where we live. Dynorod came out, went next door to the manhole, dredged it and said that it was blocked-we have had no problems since!!!! As it turned out an old lady who lives down the road was banking up the system by pouring fat down her sink drain and causing a stoppage in the sewer system for the rest of us residents-all the sinks were getting backed up too by the time someone complained to the local council!!!!! I'd check who you shared the drains with in your neighbourhood. Incidentally, the poor old lady was totally oblivious of the laws which says you cannot dispose of fats and clogging agents down your domestic sink plughole, so if your drainage pipe from your washer is linked with your sink you better check that out too before you do anything else, as you or a member of your family can be the culprit to your pong!!!!! Hope you get the problem sorted.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Hope you havn't pushed the problem back into the machine? My missus uses the liquid versions of soap and fabric fresheners etc, so no problem with overuse of powders.

Whatever it was came out this morning into the drain. A black/brown blob of something.

Was like something out of a Sci-Fi movie and it stank to high heaven, maybe a distant relation to "FLUBBER".

It took 2-3minutes to actually disappear.

I am wondering if it could be the accumulation of oils/fats which spill frequently onto childrens clothes when they eat

We have always used powder but from now we are resorting to liquid.

Again thankyou to all.
