Sportsman 350
I have my license checked most times that I am fishing on public waters. It might be a passing Gendarme or one of these guys Garde Peche The image of the game warden strolling along the rivers is long gone. Today, the job is complete and requires multiple skills. The guards are fishing officials, technicians of Hydrobiology and aquatic environments. Their work is mainly on the ground and consists of monitoring, observation and warning. They also take the Minister's power to police and are responsible for enforcing the "laws fishing" for anti-pollution and protection of aquatic environments. They wear a uniform and a firearm. Their role is also to the development of waterways, the promotion of fisheries and the analysis of water quality. Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be. davedave 6
I have never seen a bailiff in the 7-8 years i have been fishing! It's odd because to me they're like some sort of mythical creature, you hear about sightings of them and you know people that have seen them, but i've never actually encountered one myself! Edited May 31, 2011 by davedave As famous fisherman John Gierach once said "I used to like fishing because I thought it had some larger significance. Now I like fishing because it's the one thing I can think of that probably doesn't."

Same here. I Think I may fall down with shock if I were to actually see one. I dont believe they exist anyway although I once heard that if you stand at the right salmon swim at the right time of year you might just might be lucky enough to glimpse one of these fabled creatures. As you say they are just a myth to scare young anglers into forking out for a license Edited May 31, 2011 by AddictedToScopex For any web design needs check out http://www.chiptenwebsites.co.uk
chesters1 1575
i was checked in about 1969? and a couple of years ago at the pond my licence was asked for but as i was not fishing the EA chappies were told to sling their hooks. they tend to be like flies to crap the more anglers in one spot the more chance of flies ,the 1969 issue was the kent championships so lots of crap to buzz round Edited May 31, 2011 by chesters1 Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies! There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong Its far easier to curse the darkness than light one candle Mathew 4:19 Grangers law : anything i say will turn out the opposite or not happen at all!
