Sounds ace count me in 100%. With something like this it would be better to make proper arrangements sooner rather than later so we can plan and book time off etc.

If it helps (maybe everyone else could do this) i can do anytime in March-June as we have no game fairs or shows at this time of year.

I'd be interested but would depend on work commitments at the time and finding a dog sitter. I'll challenge Gozzer to a smallest carp/cat contest as long as only 'pin and cane is used (extra points for silk lines, gut hooklengths and peacock /reed floats). What do you say John? :P

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

Most of the commercial carp lakes start taking their weekly bookings around the middle of April and many are booked a year ahead. I was thinking to maybe see if they would squeeze us in before they open properly.

There may also be a limit on the numbers that this style of lake can accomodate.

Most of the carp lakes actually have a very good head of roach, tench perch etc. It's just that no-one fishes for them. I suppose they feel that it is a long way to come for the same sort of fishing they have at home, so the big fish are the attraction.

The program was just a suggestion so if anyone has any other ideas they would be welcome. I would like to spend a few days on a river but there are only limited areas where night fishing is allowed.

There seems to be more interest than I expected so choice of venue may have to be rethought :)

Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.

Apart from a couple of old butt sections in the shed, the only canes I've got are holding my raspberries up, Nick. :D

I fancy the trip, but unless there's a major change in my circumstances, (both health and wealth), then it will have to be a 'non' from me.

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

Definitely count me in, though we'll be resident in the UK by then, but I don't like sitting in a tent waiting, and waiting, and waiting. I'll just do the river bit.

Probably only an hours drive from the belle-mere.

Best travel deal will be LD Lines. Portsmouth-Le havre. Probably about 50squid each way, car+2. We do that route 4-5 times a year.
