I would go with Barry go with the technology, however the sat nav does have one failing. In rural areas where postcodes are some what larger locating a particular property by name can be difficult. As we deliver over a wide area in South Wales this proved a problem but by using another "high tech" solution the dear old pc and google maps we have all but over come this problem. Fine hone on the pc before leaving, use the sat nav to put you in the area and as my grand daughter would say "easy peasy" :D

do i need one? nope.

is it a handy thing to have "just in case" yes

case in point happened last week...got lost down some country roads...got the trusty iphone out...picked up my location set my destination and bam! sorted.

map would have taken longer and not been easy to figure it all out!

i think a sat nav is a handy thing to have; but over reliance can lead to issues.

classic case of welcome to help, but use your common sense!!

We have a sat nav in the car but can't remember the last time I used it.

I like maps

Ahhh, my fone, i use it for making errrrrrrrrrrr calls and sending texts. I don't have the new technology of an 'i' fone to fiddle about with. Don't i want a 'posh fone' na, can't stand all the mini buttons and the relience people have with playing with them all day long, my missus and daughter both have the 'dogs' fone yet when you try and call them up more times than not it goes to voice mail. waste of time.

Now what issue's can you forsee me having a sat nav for getting around the capital. You have bagged the map as a disadvantage, so that argument won't be accepted over the sat nav. Next. :D

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

I think the voting results pretty well go along with the comments.

Some need, have, use and like a SatNav system. Some don't need it, don't have it, and think the rest of us probably shouldn't have it either.

Odd that those of us who do use SatNav don't think everyone should. Go figure.

Newt,

Got licenses for the truck. I notice I put 113 miles on in August and the 1st two weeks of Sept. Haven't been out of the city limits of my small community of 3,500 this year in it. Since they, Garmin Manufacturering, are in my back yard I have the Nuvi 50 series. Reckon that's enough?

I have a waypoint to the end of my driveway for retreiving the newspaper.

Edit: I might add, I was offered to be a "tester" of the military version. Kept it for a couple days and told my neighbor (he's some sort of mapmaker who talks in 1's and 0's) I didn't go anywhere and he could have it back. It carried some responsibility for filling out forms questionaires. They require some basic knowledge and training to be useful. It could "wash your socks".

Ha ha the kids (34 and 30 now !) bought us Sally Satnav for our anniversary in March. :o Well you have to move with the times  Not used it loads but I have found it ok MOST of the time. Tends to **** up in the towns when new roundabouts appear/dissapear and new road layouts confuse it.

Sally is fine BUT ALWAYS FOLLOW THE MAP as well :)

Cory,

I can't tell you all the "stuff" it did but one thing that was cool was it not only had Caller ID but it popped them up on the map where, EXACTLY, they were calling from and, EXACTLY, where your are - - - like within half a meter or less(?). If it was a long way say like my daughter is in ATL and I am in Kansas City. When she called it put up split screen maps with one bizillion options. It was cool for a "techie". All I could do was say, "hello, hello, hello, this SOB, hello!

John

How does one follow the map in town when new roundabouts appear/dissapear and new road layouts are built?
