What's the best reason (excuse) to get to the bankside during the festive period. Wife & 3 kids to convince

how about protecting the enviroment from litter,you have to go to make sure everything is ok for others.

This is going to cost, send the Mrs & kids to the sales and hope they don't spend to much.

Say you're going to keep the fish company as you don't want them to feel left out during the christmas festivities. You could even wrap some worms up with some shiney ribbons and bows to give to your favourite roach, perch, carp etc.

Just tell her you've got to feed the fish,it's only fair after all with nearly everyone else stuffing themselves silly.

 

BTW has anyone else started their xmas holidays yet,I have.

Just set a day aside so you can give them some notice and go!

i'm lucky, my wifes loves fishing, we already have trips arranged for christmas day(with picnic) and boxing day, our family say were mad, but who cares

just want try out the new hooks, or

 

the maggots need their exercise

 

or I think I left one of your gifts down by the river?

 

Or be really daring and when challenged just say,

"As you have not signed the official secrets act you do not have clearance to know the details".

Sorry dear, I just have to get away from the alcahol and food, my blood pressure is about at boiling point and I am not sure if I paid the insurance

 

Or

 

I have just had a great idea, lets ALL go down to the river for a walk, I have to go anyway to clear my head so lets make it a family thing
