Pike Course

  1. 1. As an experienced pike angler would you object to having to attend a "handling/Unhooking" course prior to being able to fish a water for pike?

why is it bad to do some training

the more training and things you learn the better at fishing you will become and you can then catch the big fish

we all go fishing to catch the big pike to take a picture to show to other anglers to show them that we are the best at fishing

Err, no we all don't.

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

Gozzer,

Thx. Cultural differences and the use of guides make professional "guiding" very stratified. They have to "put up or shut up". Bad reports go around the world while good results are putting on socks.

Just don't see, in the carp mags, much about top notch "predator" specialists in the UK.

Phone

Hi Phone - that may well be attributable to the fact that (certainly in the UK) carp mags deal pretty much exclusively for and with carp anglers to the exclusion of all others, likewise the predator mags.

so you one of those not so good anglers but dont worry the more you fish the better you will get and one day you will get the big fish and you can take a photograph and post in on here and we all know you are now a good angler

so dont worry that you only catch the tiddlers as one day everyone gets lucky and gets the big fish

tiddler fishing is not so bad so dont feel bad if you only catch the little fish

if we all the anglers catch the best fish then its not good for the big fish so better some anglers catch small ones some times

Oh Dear, you are either taking the Mick, or have missed the point entirely.

oh sorry I did not intend to be rude to mr gozzer but i thought he is the angler who goes fishing to catch lots and lots of fish is that a match fisher? i did not think he was a good angler who goes for the big fish and takes pictures of them to show other anglers specimen anglers? i did not mean for it to sound bad as i am new so sorry mr gozzer.

am i wrong but i thought this posting was about how it is good to get the correct training to catch and unhook and photograph your pike and then put them back with out damage to them

You might not know this but gozzer is a well known big Carp Angler but he does not like to make a big thing out if it. We try to respect his privacy and don't tend to pester him to post his weights and photographs. He gets more then enough publicity in the magazines and on TV so he does not post his big fish pictures up on here. Anglers Net is a chance to get away from the Big Carp World, We are just pleased to have him share some of his Carp knowledge with us.
