  1. 1. As an experienced pike angler would you object to having to attend a "handling/Unhooking" course prior to being able to fish a water for pike?

You might not know this but gozzer is a well known big Carp Angler but he does not like to make a big thing out if it. We try to respect his privacy and don't tend to pester him to post his weights and photographs. He gets more then enough publicity in the magazines and on TV so he does not post his big fish pictures up on here. Anglers Net is a chance to get away from the Big Carp World, We are just pleased to have him share some of his Carp knowledge with us.

I'd have kept my mouth shut if I'd have known you were going to tell everyone.

And it's Mr Gozzer to you now.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

Outed! The shame and humiliation of it. Never mind, there are support groups for everything these days, John.

Come off it Rob, who can honestly say that they haven't a skeleton or two in their closet?

In my defence, all I can say is that I was young and naive, everyone else was doing it, and I got in with a bad crowd. Luckily I soon saw the error of my ways, and sought help. I'm glad to say that it's all in my past, and if it wasn't for certain people, who revel in the misfortune of others, it would have stayed there.

They don't know the nightmares, nay, night terrors that come when I'm reminded of those days, (and nights). The fact that I was involved in such a demeaning act of self inflicted degradation, brought shame on not just me, but my whole family and circle of friends, (some of which still don't acknowledge my existence, even after all those years).

In a perverse way I'm kind of glad it's out, but the shame still lingers, the medication does help a little though.
