Wingham Fish-In dates 2013

I have been using feeder booms to very good effect if you want to take a look at those. They hold your hooklength away from the feeder It does add a bit of extra end tackle but it hasnt caused me any issues. I only use the booms when using light lines though as thicker mono doesnt tend to tangle so much anyway.

If i want to catch a carp i am going to give my secret away this is the very rig i use. It'ss easy and very effective but probably just to easy. Those mouths are like hoovers i am sure you could put a orange on the end but i like eating oranges :)....On a serious not it has caught me many a carp when i fished them a long time ago

Rusty - a shorter hooklength will help. To avoid tangles 100%, a little pva stocking with a few bits in nicked onto the hook will do it. I'd avoid tubing if you want to keep it free running.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

The feeder booms I use are still very free running. The line runs through the boom rather than through the swivel of the lead and the lead clips to the boom. You can also cut the boom to length to suit what you want.. These are the ones I used:

Rusty, the PVA bag/stocking suggestion from Anderoo really does solve tangle issues with an added bonus of attraction by your hook bait.

The tinca's have woke-up round here, I had eight and lost two the other day whilst float fishing on a local water. I reckon the northern tinca's only get out of bed a month after the southern softies so the wingham greenbacks should be well up n' at em' :).

The Carp Lake is catching up fast and has been fishing very well. On the other hand Main Lake is still way behind normal. Up to 6 tench are being caught in a session, but a lot are still coming out at night. By now they'd have normally switched to daytime feeding, especially mornings.

The strong winds we had a few days ago will have mixed the water up and unsurprisingly the water temperature has dropped sharply.

It's a way off yet, but if the weather forecasts are to be believed it may warm up just in time for the Fish-In!
