There is some really bad science reporting going on over here Bob. On the BBC news at 10 tonight the reporter said thet "nobody knows when the world will come to an end". Don't they know that in a few billion years the sun will become a red giant?

To be fair to they Mayans, they made no such claims, it's just that some of us can't get our head round any calander that is more complicated than one that has 12 months in a year.

It was more of a logical deduction than a Google search. Since C was an improvement on B, it seemed like a fair bet that any progression from C would be given the moniker D. I did do a quck Google just to check my logic before I made the post.

No, I mean that if they had called it Db instead of C#, the accepted use of db as an abbreviation for database would have made googling a nightmare - people would end up searching for things like "DB access in Db"
