i see the government has chosen the final design for the diana fountain/moat thingy ,hopefully none of the committee set up to choose the thing wont be recieving ANY public funds whatsoever ,seeing they couldnt make their minds up and didnt actually choose it :mad:

but I see on TV tonite that people (friends/family) aren't overly chuffed.

 

Can't see it being a great tourist puller myself.

I reckon a life-like statue made of evergreens (for the winter) and flowers that bloom in the summer would get tourists piling in.

 

The flowers could represent her natural beauty and fragility, and the statute would help tourists to remember what she looked like/ why they're there.

(Good for souveneirs)

Also a few "candles in the wind" would add the finishing touches.

i expect a"certain" family member isnt amused because it isn`t in their back garden

and it just HAPPENED to be an american designer havent we ANY competant people in this country ,even a uk wide design competition (open to everyone)would have been better than that :mad:

Have you seen the proposed design? A 50m by 80m oval trough filled with flowing water. Cost? £3m.
