Cod Stopper, if you re-read my post I was making the same point as you, that at the end of her life she was gassed....

Darrell with wit and witticism the subject matter is of no consequence. The subject matter is a vehicle for the witticism.

I sincerely agree that to denigrate somebody for the sake of sarcasm (the lowest form of wit if indeed it could be called wit at all) or derision is a poor show indeed.

I suppose it all boils down to how different people view life. For some it is insulting for others it has humour (not funny, jokey or laughable) just humour and one's perception of humour. If I make fun of myself and take it to then it shows my outlook on life yours is obviously a lot different to mine.

I am disabled and if I could not look at life and it's perils, and laugh at it (or at least see humour in the face of adversity) I would not have survived this long. My very humble opinion says if I cannot a lighter side to most things, life would be painful, dreary and sad. Not worth a carrot.

It takes longer for the river to get to the sea than it does for a man to make an error.

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

Its far easier to curse the darkness than light one candle

I have dark skin. It is a fact. The term darkie therefore is an attempted description, although I agree it does not convey the degree of darkness nor the actual colour. Maybe 34.jpg would be closer, I don't know, but the term is only offensive because somebody has decided that it is.

(Whether I would actually answer to the term is a different matter, lol).

Hi kendo, nothing to do with political correctness as far as I'm concerned, I just thgink it's poor taste, pure and simple, as far as I'm concerned.

As for the term "darkie" the only thing that bothers me is the fact that we're afraid to say it. Do coloured people really find this offensive ? Most probably not, If they do they must have very few things to worry about!

No, this problem lies with "political correctness" the same political correctness that does not extend to me - as a Welshman living in England - I'm constantly referred to as Taff - do I mind ? Do I feel like an ethnic minority ? Do I heck as like!!

No time for PC, but still reserve the opinion that this "joke" is poor taste - The girl was terrorised and murdered for gods sake, nothing to do with political correctness.
