I fished with one of those well over 50 years ago.

Horrible thing.

It's amazing what you can sell on an auction site. I wonder how many are left ??

Bit modern for me ,i cant understand how he has sold so many anyone ever having come across them would avoid them like the plague

The first reel i had was probably worse than that one ,fairly lage steel thing with a permanent clicker ,drove everyone mad even on the other side of the pond and the spool was riveted on so it couldnt be taken off to remove the clicker.

Luckily i was given a more up market ali one that you could turn sideways to cast and it made life easier ,still got it in the loft.

I kept the noisy one as backup (i only had one rod ) and when my uncle gave me his old intrepid and i silenced the dammed noisy one permenantly with a 2ib hammer

2 more sold since this thread started!!! :o

Looking for dimensions of these things and it only says they are 70mm deep. If they came in say a 75mm cubed box then the number sold would fit into a crate a metre squared an 25cm deep (if my math is correct! )

at £2.50 might be alright for something to sit on a shelf :)

I've just put £2.50 on a shelf - it looks better than one of those pins, and I've still got £2.50.
