Chris,

And all this time I thought it was because it is hard to back cast.

Nothing seriously close to me (my neighborhood) but plenty of trips up and down the stairs to the basement.

All,

Ken, you're right. Oklahoma City, OK, a city of +- a million, is getting hammered. Back to back to back. We almost always have toronados but usually these things don't target populated areas.

Guess that's what basements are for??

Over 90 killed terrible a 2 mile wide tornado that's some power of nature I am sure the death toll will be much higher .

The weather here is cold but it does bring it home just how lucky we are here when you see the terrible deverstation a tornado can impose of that magnitude.

Watching it on Sky news, terrible event, absolute devastation, whole neighbourhoods flattened. Saw a dog pulled from the debris, alive and well.

As with all natural disasters you just have to feel for the folks affected. I'm glad we don't have such violent tornadoes here in the UK.

All,

A tornado touched down today, [Thursday] nearby already hard-hit Oklahoma City and adjacent parts of Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri faced tornado warnings Thursday and Friday.
