Lost my mojo

I just can't be bothered with fishing at the moment.

I don't know why, I have just lost interest. I think it is down to having the lake in the garden and fishing the same place too often.

I have only been out on the float tube once this year, Now the big Perch should be beckoning but they are not.

I think I will leave it to the Spring and think of something else to do for a while

Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.

Like Budgie says, it happens to all of us Dave. My yearly trips can be counted on one hand at the moment, and I still get the odd day when I just don't feel like it, so I don't even have my own lake to blame!

It'll come back. you'll see.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

I am suffering the same fate at the moment hence my lack of posting on here but mine is down to having too many other hobbies to focus my time on. I know that angling will always be there waiting for me when my focus shifts again. I got a new club ticket this year and feel like I have wasted it and it wasnt cheap but there is a long waiting list so I had to take the opportunity to get it as you never know when the passion will sweep back in again.

I am in the same boat, had two big projects on my house that started early summer and have just come to an end, The Kids sport/hobbies take up alot of time and my favorite venue had a big fish kill - I went and had a walk round there yesterday but didnt get that I want to be fishing feeling.

Its that bad that I cant even be bothered to even sort/tidy up kit or tie some new rigs, I have two unread fishing books gathering dust, I even went so far as to work out a possible return if I sold ALL my fishing gear - It is not worth it as the replacement cost would be beyond my means and the return not that great.

If it's practical, invite someone as a 'fishing' guest (ME!, ME!, ME! :clap2: ) - rightly or wrongly, I always get the impression that you fish pretty much alone (on your lake), and some genial, like-minded company might ne just the nudge / motivation that you need?

That loss of interest can happen from time to time but the desire to go can also come back at any time. Most of this year I had little desire to be out and I really had to force myself to fish at times. I got in that situation where I felt that I was spending to much time/money and effort to fit my life around my fishing. I went fishing to justify the expense I had already laid out on tickets rather then because I had a passion for what I was doing. All that taught me was if you are not feeling it then don't bother and other then some exciting overseas fishing I did not bother from mid July until the start of October. Every weekend since the start of October I have been out every Saturday & Sunday and have a real passion for it again. In fact there is so much I want to do but don't have the time to fit it all in.

I think sometimes it is easy to get stuck in a rut of fishing the same place/places or targeting the same species. A change whether a total break from fishing or just exploring new places, methods or species can do you a world of good. But fishing is not everything and there is always plenty of other stuff to do.

I always think that fishing should fit in to your life and not that you fit your life around your fishing. When you feel the urge go back to it, if not then enjoy the other delights that life has to offer.

Stephen

Happens to us all now and again, I lost interest last winter which was kind of sparked off by the condition of the rivers.

Right now I'm looking at the forecast and can potentially see my pike season going down the drain with the floods again which is a real concern :(

I had this all of last year, some renewed enthusiasm early season this year which quite rapidly disappeared and I havn't been since early September and have no plans to go in the near future, might be it for fishing for another year

after my working hours changed too 6 days a week i only get sundays off and i've only managed one planned fishing trip out of three and won't be going anywhere untill next year now ,and even though i'm free most sundays with loads of local waters i could fish .i've not bothered sometimes due too the weather sometimes apathy .i had a week off work recently closest i got too fishing was servicing my mitchell and abu reels .and have recently finished moving my work room and refitting it out .theres always work for idol hands too keep me from going completely mad .

i started too make a float for a christmas auction thing ,and i'm half way done but i'am a bit low on enthusiasm at the moment luckily i've a little time before its needed ,so once i'm over this hump i'll crack on with it .like others with not going fishing ,it means less too post about .

you've just got too give it time until the compulsion returns .and it will
