Bet his Father was one proud dad, sounds like he had quite a battle with it.

Thats a lot of fish from a Kayak for a lad that size. Good effoert on his part.

Its just a shame that he had to smack it over the head. Its not even a record fish. I know its easy from 3000 miles away to criticise but thats a specimen striper of mammoth proportions that deserved to swim away. I have to ask myself if I'd do the same to a 40lb pike and the answer has to be 'no'.

Here we go again. Its a good eating fish, they are controlled species, its within limits. Please dont spoil other peoples happy moments with your projected guilt trips. Save the criticism for the people who dump fish after a beach or boat comp.
