This one needs signing URGENTLY

We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Create a dedicated Military & Veterans Hospital within the UK

Please sign it here.

With the growing numbers of wounded personnel repatriated to the UK and with continued growth in medically discharged personnel since the Falklands war to current conflicts and operations, our service men & women and veterans of previous operational service are owed the best medical care possible. The existing facilities are falling short and the NHS are not meeting the needs of veterans who still need treatment for their service related conditions. A dedicated Military & Veterans Hospital will greatly help resolve this National scandal since the complete closure of our military hospitals that has proved to be total folly.

Please note that 2 Para alone have recently sent back 50 wounded. These men and Women, whether or not you accept what they are doing is legitimate, deserve to have the best care we can offer, from specialist staff and amongst their comrades, not dispersed around local NHS Hospitals, perhaps lacking the skills and experience to treat Gunshot and shrapnel wounds.

Thanks if you do, unusually there has been a deadline imposed on this petition of 19th August, that's five days at the time of posting.

"My imaginary friend doesn't like your imaginary friend is no basis for armed conflict...."

I thought the governement actually closed all the old ones, so isn't this acting after the horse has already bolted ?

I don't disagree with the sentiments of the proposal but I'm sure governement decided that miitary personel were best looked after in 'ordinary' hospitals  (?)

...deserve to have the best care we can offer, from specialist staff...
Everyone deserves the best care we can offer. If I were a injured serviceman I'd rather be in my NHS local hospital and be in receipt of "the best care we can offer" close to my family, not hundreds of miles away in a military hospital.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

OK, so you are of the opinion that what the Govt. decides is best for everybody, that's OK, you are entitled to such an opinion.

I posted this because it was pointed out to me by a close Family Member, said person used to Command a certain Company of the Parachute Regiment.

He has just visited a friend of his who lost an arm and a leg in Afghanistan, he is in his Local NHS Hospital getting the best care they can give him.

Said person was recommended to have Hydrotherapy. The NHS Hospital does not have the facilities because they have no need, so he was sent to the local Swimming Pool.

After complaints from the Local residents that they do not want to see 'that' sort of thing in the local Swimming pool, the sessions were terminated.

Hey, carry on, I am sure that the Govt. has his best interests at heart when they closed the Military Hospitals.

As for considering what 'you' think is best for the Soldier, that is HIS decision. I have been in Military Hospitals on several occasions, the first thing they would offer you, if they thought your care would NOT be comprimised was a transfer to the local NHS hospital.

After all, prisoners in Jail have a right to be near their families when they are locked up, which some seem to harpen on about.

IF you agree with the petition, sign it, if you DON'T agree with it then don't sign it. take all your [Edited] opinions somewhere else.

If you have never walked the walk, you can never talk the talk.

Or in a more polite manner, I would quote Lord Marlborough, from memory so might not be correct......

"For it's soldier this and soldier that and give the fella the boot, but 'tis saviour of our Country when guns begin to shoot."

There is no need to get upset just because some people do not agree with your opinion. It's not often I edit disguised swearing, but on this occasion there was absolutely no need for it.

Has the government ever been known to do anything whatsoever as a result of one of these petitions?

English as tuppence, changing yet changeless as canal water, nestling in green nowhere, armoured and effete, bold flag-bearer, lotus-fed Miss Havishambling, opsimath and eremite, feudal, still reactionary, Rawlinson End.

The only one that did make a difference was the road pricing petition. It certainly had many thousands of signitures and the government decided not to go ahead with road pricing. I don't know if the petition was the reason why not though. Many of the fishing petitions just get watered down now. I do think that the government comments now and again when some petitions reach the closing date but only if it is in their interest to do so.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Sorry mate but much as I applaud such things I for one will not be signing. OK I am not officially ;) allowed to! BUT ways around that one! ;) ;) ;)

Just having spent time in just such an establishment I think it is NOT the best place for a recovering serviceman to be! As has been said they are MILES from anywhere and what's more you can't get up to ANYTHING untoward!!! Mind you last time I ended up getting married for 28 years!!

Mmmmm perhaps I MAY have been a little hasty?????

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))
