Should more affordable housing be built in this country landlords are chargeing extortionate rents these days actually hitting the tax payers pocket wages are now way behind in real terms when you balance the books with what rents are these days unless you have reasonable good job there is no way you can get a morgage people are left in limbo its getting serious now.

 

The right to buy tipped the balance between affordable housing to rent and owning your own property greedy landlords are milking the taxpayer in this country more cheap afforable housing built would stop this in flash taking the demand for housing to rent down britain for some reason has this mentality about owning your own house when in most countrys in this world renting at reasonable rates is the norm when you work out what you actually pay for morgage over its term its well over double you borrowed its the feel good factor owing your own property but should there be more available to rent at afforable rents.

Poverty my ar5e it makes me laugh when people talk about poverty in the UK, what they can only afford 10 b&h instead of 20, playstation 3 instead of 4, have to drink Carling instead of wifebeater.

Rents rise when theres a demand a million or so foreigners every few years is a demand .

Plenty of council houses out there if you chuck out people who dont deserve them ,8 "social" houses further down my road ,all have more than one car ,both adults work one is a councillor not people i would give cheap housing to any day.

After a certain income they should be forced to move so the less well of have a chance

Since we all come in naked and wet I don't see poverty ever "rising". Segregation of wealth may be a problem. An area government is very good at muddling up is housing. Since the beginning of time the rich have become richer on the backs of the poor. 15,000 years is a pretty good test of time.

Good question phone the UK has a population of approx 63 million however the population density is probably more relevent at 679 people per square mile compared to say Frances of 306 per sq mile or the USA of 83.
