Immigrants

Can someone please tell me is there a way to stop these immigrants from taking my bait? On several occasions I have been fishing for native roach and perch, and along come these bloody immigrants and take my bait. They seem to be everywhere, not content to stay in the still waters, they have now taken to the rivers. If this carries on, there will be hardly any bait getting to our native fish, and it could lead to a severe drop in numbers and quality of future native fish stocks. This is not an isolated problem, it is spreading rapidly and if it is not in your area, then it will be soon. We must act to solve this problem, before it is too late. The future is in your hands. ACT NOW!

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

Catch them. Eat them or use them for bait. That will teach them.

In some parts of America and Australia they use a bow and arrow to catch carp. It is quite effective on a warm day when they are on the suface.

The Australians simply kill all the carp they catch. Don't even eat them. They make good yabby and crab bait though

Sadly, that is not entirely true. A couple of years ago I got fined $100.00 for fishing for and catching a carp in a lake that did not even have notices saying that fishing was not allowed!

Could have been a lot worse.

There are very heavy fines for returning carp in some states
