Excellent idea Budgie!

A seat at Wingham wouldn't be on I'm afraid, but I've an alternative for members to consider.

Gerry went to Wingham twice - once as my guest and once on an AN Fish-In. Both times he brought along some excellent sausages that went down a treat. I'm having a brick BBQ made in time for next year's Fish-In. So how about decorating it with a plaque in Gerry's memory? In that way there's both a direct link to Gerry, and also something that will be seen at every Wingham Fish-In?

What do you all think?

Sounds terrific to me.

I think ELTON may have added my condolences for Gerry. But now I have the chance thought only right to call and pay my respects in person!!

Never met Gerry, but had a few NICE words with him and I can honestly say I don't think anyone had a bad word for him!! So Gerry, sadly missed you will be by most on here and may you rest in peace!! God alone knows how much you will be missed!

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

Guy's,

If any of you want to organise a floral tribute for Gerry's funeral it can easily be done through Floral Hall, which is situated less than 50 yards from the Funeral Directors.

All you need to do is to give them a call on 0208 670 3200, order the flower arrangement' and ask them to deliver to Yeatman & Sons by 12.30 to 13.00 on the day of the funeral.

Please, mention Gerry's full name, which is Gerald Castles, to the people at Floral Hall.

Have a great Christmas

Regards

Vidar

For health reasons, I haven't used a PC for 3 weeks, and when I read the newsletter e-mail from AN, I couldn't believe it. I still can't.

I often crossed swords with Gerry prior to meeting him. But - having met him, my opinion did a complete volte face. Not just a top class angler, but a warm and generous man, with it.

Gerry is the fifth friend orfamily member I've lost this year, and his leaving us far too soon, has hurt more than the others combined.

May your lines be permanently tight, Gerry - and may your family gain comfort in the knowledge that your loss is so widely shared.
