A Nice Catch of Mullet

Recommended Posts

Hope that they one day can emphatically say who is to blame, then at least the argument can be put to bed and we can get on with some constructive discussions on how to reverse the process...............................hopefully while there's the odd fish left to breed.

Or what.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Or what.

Exactly

i personally quite like the odd ocasion when i catch a fish, little un loves it too.

Thinking while theres still a few left the 2 parties would be better off agreeing to disagree on who's fault it is, for christs sake its like being in the schoolyard.

'you started it'

'did not'

'did too'

No take zones anyone? too easy?

There are many options but the arguments never seem to follow any kind of direction which could end up with a solution, i may be wrong but from some people this seems deliberate as if any change is wrong whether it be for the good of us all or not.

Fishermen and scientists have known for over 50 years that the status of fish stocks can be greatly influenced by prevailing climatic conditions (Cushing 1982; Hjort 1914). In recent years scientists have focused their attention on the potential impact of climate change on North Sea cod populations. Cod is a cold-water species with a northerly distribution. A series of recent research papers has demonstrated that the number of juvenile fish entering the stock (termed ‘recruitment’) has declined markedly, and there is a strong negative correlation (O’Brien et al., 2000) between cod ‘recruitment’ and ocean temperatures, which have generally been increasing.

It's all down to recruitment, cod will live in a wide range of tempreature but they need colder conditions to breed successfully, same as bass need wamer conditions.

Hi roryh

I to get a little **** off with the same old arguments, i think we all do, but the idea that the fishing is as good today as it has ever been is pure bo**ocks and that the commercial pressure on fish stocks had nothing to do with the colapse of any of the species is insanity, so what is to be done? nothing according to the commercials so how the f**k can you find solutions with such people who dont want one, i think it is a total waste of time trying to, i think its better just to push and pressure the government for what is best directly and say balls to the sfc's your not going to get jack **** out of them the way they are set up at the mo, cheers...............

Hello Stavey

Nobody has said that fishing is as good to day as it has ever been, some fisheries it is others it ain't.

If a solution was suggested that might be off use and is workable we would be more willing to listen, but mostly the knee jerk stupid ness that most forms of management , including most anything anglers come up with just ain't worth the time.

I fish to live and live to fish.

Then lets get some funds raised and lobby, like the commercials do. That means with one voice and pressure all from the same place.

I happen to agree that to suggest that commercial pressure does not effect fish stocks is pure fantassy, by the nature of the beast fishing consumes fish, regardless of any oppinions, i am also of no doubt that there are other factors to be considered also.

Exactly what i was saying isnt it 'commercials say they dont cause pressure on fish stocks' 'anything anglers suggest is sh1t'

Why not take yer ball home ?

Newsflash guys, fishing puts pressure on fish stocks (commercial or otherwise) and we have to work together whether some of us like it or not.

If I ever get the hang of it they'll bloody well ban it!
