There is no road tax for private vehiicles in France. It was abolished ten years ago,. The only time one pays to use the roads in France are the tolls on the motorway. The motorways are owned by private companies.

As roads dont grow and maintain themselves then the french road tax is just called tax as i plainly said,the french will pay to use roads but there just not a visible excuse to raise tax

Well, Martin the fishmonger rings us up if he gets any red mullet, and brings them over in his van the same day. We have just restocked the freezer with a load.

Is it martin the fishmonger who pops out to catch fish or martin the agent of multinational supermarkets flogging foreign imported fish LOL

At least we get real english tea nowadays ,not sure what it tastes like though .

I spotted our "local" fishmonger van bloke taking goods from a certain fish distributors van in the car park near the pond ,being unpackaged fish and meat sold in this way are untraceable "came from the boats today mrs " could mean imported this morning via dover after a week at sea originating a thousand miles away and in potentialy unsanitary and uncertain methods of capture and storage

Okay I get your point. What I mean is that it all roads except mortorways are paid for through general taxation, but the annual road tax for private vehicles was abolished in 2006. There are tolls on most of the French motorway system, which are owned by the government but maintained by private companies. Some autoroutes are FREE to use the ones that you pay to use have peage written under the blue motorway sign.

My boss took me down the motorway(s) to his french pad ,paid at the piages and got a hefty fine for arriving too 'early' LOL

Mind you mile after mile at +100 looks slow after a while even to me

I think it is Martin the entrepreneur who goes early to Billingsgate makes a good choice, and is on his way back before Mr Supermarket's alarm goes off

show me where I have shown distain to the u k farmers sport.

 

I have pointed out clearly that the cap is a money pit where almost 50% of all tax payers money is spent subsidising the whole of the e u farming industry, show me where they deserve and need the total support of the tax payers over everything else in the federal super state. Notice the e u slow on the uptake to support the u k steelworkers for example, while allowing cheap imports into the e u. All this e u stands for is to keep their management machine rolling whatever the cost. All of their legislation appears not fit for purpose. Show me where it is doing good for the u k.
