Yep, the key word is "personal" - Even so I have met people who apparently have remarkable powers of self-deception, and PBs beyond rational belief.

My PB's can be judged by the number of years passed and number of witnesses. For example, my 45+lb carp has inched well over 50 in some circles.

Love the word "known" it merely means maybe ,20 feet away in an unknown pond there could be more

Scientists afraid to put their head on the line and state they ARE the only ones ,then get sacked when more turn up .it must be nice not having to do a full job and show something at the end of the day they are the only ones or they are not you cant just guess and demand a wage

 

Its like those scientists saying x y or z is extinct then years later one turns up are the scientists asked to give back their wages and then publicly ridiculed and never employed again ,no they just ignore bad workmanship and let them carry on guessing their way through life producing nothing more substantial than opinion
