Legendary US composer and songwriter Stephen Sondheim has died aged 91.

Sir Frank Williams, founder and former team principal of the Williams Racing Formula 1 team, has died aged 79.

He built the team named after him into one of the most successful in the sport.

Former Liverpool and Arsenal midfielder Ray Kennedy has died at the age of 70.

Kennedy, who scored three times in 17 appearances for England, was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1984.

He scored 71 goals in 212 games for Arsenal, winning the First Division and FA Cup Double in 1971, before joining Liverpool in 1974.

During an eight-year spell at Anfield, where he scored 72 goals in 393 appearances, Kennedy won five league titles and three European Cups.

Rock musician John Miles has died at the age of 72, his family have confirmed.

Born in Jarrow, north east England, he was best known for the epic ballad Music, which reached number three in the UK charts in 1976. Also the main vocalist on Alan Parsons albums

Steve Bronski, co-founder and keyboard player in 1980s pop group Bronski Beat, has died at the age of 61.

Bronski, from Glasgow, was born Steve Forrest and formed the group in 1983 with singer Jimmy Somerville and fellow-musician Larry Steinbachek.
