Clipping up ?? Have a look at this

Clipping up isn't something I ever do unless fishing on a large water where long casts are required.  I haven't fished a situation like that in years.  I never felt comfortable clipping up, but those reels would make clipping up a bearable practice.

I have a number of FS reels and baitrunners which I just don't use so, as handy as they looked, I couldn't justify getting one of those reels.

If you get one Martin you'll have to let us know how you go on with it 😎👍.

Same here Martin, I don’t really like clipping up, and I haven’t needed to clip up for donkey years, however I can see the need for it when wanting to hit the same spot every time when fishing at long ranges; for example on top of a narrow gravel bar or in a narrow gulley at range etc,; and if the automatic clip release works it does sound good for those who do need to clip up.

I've "All On" hitting a Cows Arse with a Banjo a lot of the time on the feeder, though strangely, I can cast a float to the same spot 8 /10.

Maybe my heart's just not into Legering!!

I have never clipped up ,i rarely use groundbait so i have no use for it .If you cannot hit the same spot most of the time perhaps you need to practice more? But remember i fish under a couple of rod lenghs out so i have no excuse to not hit the same spot ,i am not a static spot angler i will cast everywhere until i find the fish which generally spook them off a few yards anyway so its pointless in my case

Even ledgering for carp i am to tight to chuck in freebies so no need to fish in a static position ,its surprising how many times you can use a boily mines been on since 1987 !

Hello Chesters.

How yer diddlin' me ol' mucker. Just popped in to wish my best angling mate a Happy Christmas as I know how much you've missed me.

I see you're busy, what with Martin56 whacking his own backside with a banjo (risky, it could have easily disappeared inside), BaldBear struggling to learn how to clip up, and my ol' mate Trigger buying reels that he doesn't use because he doesn't know how to; poor ol' bugger!

I'll catch all you lot, my greatest fans, in the New Year, so you all take care and tell Trigger to use the giblets from the turkey as bait as it might help him to catch something, even if it is only a cold! 😂

Martin, so you haven't been inspired to get one of these reels yourself?

No I haven't John, I just thought I'd put it out there as a suggestion for anyone thinking of buying new a feeder reel.

Keeps the forum open to new Ideas.

Looks like with a Junior hacksaw & a bit of care, you could convert to same without buying a new reel!!

Or maybe a hot craft knife at 45 degrees towards the Butt!!
