  1. Well done. You could try them as livebait for the perch, pike and chub upstream .
  2. A bit of patience with the Google results found this, hopefully of use... http://www.salmonfishingforum.com/forums/s...read.php?t=5639
  3. If you have a local tackle shop they should sell them, else google for online stockists, e.g. http://www.leslies-luton.co.uk/store/produ...T-REFILL-2-SSG/
  4. There's something wrong with barbel being in stillwaters? :) Most of my stillwater barbel have been on the float as opposed to leger/feeder, the final take is usually positive but no more so than from the more numerous carp.
  5. There's a good old article here, but the pictures don't display for me anymore... http://www.fishingmagic.com/features/beginners/11288.html The method usually works reasonably well for me in the winter at commercials, although I switch bait from sweetcorn to a small bunch of three or four maggots at this time of year. As ever in the winter you need to locate the fish, the winter banker swim on one pool is behind the biggest of several small islands.
  6. There's plenty of information if you google, here's a couple of threads with pictures... http://www.maggotdrowning.com/forum/topic....;TOPIC_ID=74626 http://www.maggotdrowning.com/forum/topic....;TOPIC_ID=83484 It looks like a nice mixed fishery.
  7. There's a little information on the Tunnel Barn Farm stretch here (but no mention of pike or zander), so you'd expect the nearby stretches to be the same... http://www.tunnelbarnfarm.com/cannel%202008.htm
  8. "A" on the map is Manor House Farm and there's a small pond to the south of it (if you zoom in some more) as well as the bigger pond further south, perhaps some locals can confirm if one of them is it or not? Other forums say it only has 4 pegs, so it must be small. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&so...ved=0CAoQ8gEwAA
  9. There's pictures here... http://www.fishingmagic.com/news_events/news/14598.html
  10. I've caught lots of perch this year on floatfished luncheonmeat from my local gravel pit, including several low 2's. One afternoon early this autumn I had 8 sizeable perch to 1½lb on luncheonmeat, my best perch haul ever. I made sure I took worms on the next trip, and then couldn't get through the double figure carp .
  11. A nice report and photos as usual Janet . You didn't say what you trimmed your (wrong) line with, I find it easier and neater to use nail clippers on mono rather than scissors (although nail clippers are useless with braid).
  12. Nice report, nice pictures, nice fishing. Keep them coming.
  13. Their site... http://www.blenheimpalace.com/estate/fishing/ And an old article... http://www.fishingmagic.com/news/article.a...=5&UAN=1785
  14. That sounds like a cracking day, but where's the photo of the 2lb roach ? There aren't many commercial fishery fans on this site, so tales of 100+ fish (even if they aren't all carp) are unlikely to get many positive responses.
  15. You can use a lead to anchor the controller as in the second diagram here... http://www.carp-uk.net/floaterfishing.htm Another option is to use the beachcaster rig.
  16. Is this it (top row)?... http://www.lathams-fishing.co.uk/octoplus-...CFQcTzAod0lLLdQ
  17. Foxholes is the one near Crick, but it does not have a Serpentine lake... http://www.foxholesfisheries.co.uk/index.html The one you used to fish that does have a Serpentine lake is Clifton Pools/Lakes. That is now season ticket only, £120 for one rod, £160 for two rods, I think (which disagrees very slightly with the web page)... http://www.tackleup.com/new_page_2.htm
  18. That's a result. What did you do to fish like an idiot, and how's that meant to make the non-winners feel ?
  19. I expect you've seen the web site (there's not a lot on it)... http://www.reephamfishery.co.uk/ If you've got a week, you can try them all .
  20. There's plenty of information if you google, and they have their own web site http://www.dayhousefarmfishery.com/ with directions on it.
  21. Lots of pictures in Google images... http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&am...=4&oq=ruffe http://images.google.co.uk/images?gbv=2&am...mp;aq=f&oq=
  22. It's a shame that the catches from these newfangled commercial tench fisheries belittle the catches of other tench fishermen .
  23. That's a nice looking fish.
  24. I very much doubt it, or else why have a pike season in the first place? To find out for sure you could always phone them... If you have any problems with other site users, or see people breaking fishery rules, please contact the rangers / bailiff on 01604 810970. For up-to-date information on this Fishery please contact Geoff Power (Bailiff) on the above number.
