  1. I am not sure if little old me all on my own can prove that Zander are invasive, but the EA certainly considers them so. See here.
  2. The species I most enjoy fishing for these days is definately mullet, grey, of the thin lipped variety, previous to that I was a brown trout man (never did like rainbows, they taste like the smell of Tetramin), but the Corydoras catfish from Corydoras acrensis to Corydoras zygatus are the cutest fish of all!
  3. Fish good, anything else bad perchance? The introduction of Ruffe to Loch Lomond is a good example IMHO http://www.sepa.org.uk/consultation/closed/llcmp.pdf http://www.cce.cornell.edu/programs/nansc/...ey=060400000000 http://www.columbia.edu/itc/cerc/danoff-bu...%20cernuus.html A quick Google for ruffe loch lomond invasion will point you to loads more reading.
  4. Basically I come from the 'thout shalt not suffer an introduced species to live' school of thought. It does not matter if we are talking about plants, fish, insects or mammals, introductions should not be tolerated. It seems to me that there are lot of anglers that could not give a toss what strange and wonderful non-native fish get introduced to our waters and will spout all sorts of cr@p about 'nature finding it's own balance', but they are not so keen when natures balance tilts in the favour of something that eats fish (like mink or even our indiginous otter). 5. Where? I have spent loads of time in France and have never witnessed this. Most of the time in Caen you won't even get a ticket for staying too long at a meter. [ 25. February 2004, 05:30 PM: Message edited by: corydoras ]
  6. Zander are an invasive alien species, just like mitten crabs, mink, coypu et al. They should not be permitted to live in our waterways and returning a captured zander back to the water should be an offence. The EA should be netting them, not protecting them IMHO. [ 25. 7. Yes sir, that looks as mullety as it gets. Shame it is a bit far for me

When you buy something in a shop you do not sign for it you tap in your PIN code.
  9. Remember the 'priorite a droite' rule in some towns and in lots of country roads.
  10. Reminds me of an old Scots joke. Q. What's the best sex position for producing ugly offspring? A. Ask yer Maw!
  11. The first vessel is the M/V Heinrich Behrmann. On Nov 8 2001, bound for Zeebrugge, she developed engine malfunction and so called on help from tugs. The weather was very bad that night, winds N-NW, force 9 gusting 11. Three attempts were made to to take the vessel in tow, but each time the tow lines snapped. Three tug crew members were injured while trying to tow M/V Heinrich Behrmann back to open sea. Driven by the storm the ship grounded at the Blankenberge resort beach. Because the storm was blowing on-shore the tide was higher than usual and the vessel grounded very close to the sea front. Sounds like the skipper of this one might get to play boats another day. 12. Yes it is safe, but there is always the chance of screwing things up using regedit. If you are nervous use regback to backup the whole registry before you start. To save a key, click on the key to highlight it then do File/Export registry file and save this file on your desktop. To import it again just double-click on the .reg file and answer yes when asked if you want to import.
  13. It is all to do with the maximum baud rate of the standard phone system (POTS, Plain Old Telephone System) This pdf file explains it more succinctly than I ever could. I hope that your maths is up to it.
  14. Yoxer In addition to removing the two keys you have already mentioned and everything in C:Program FilesUlead SystemsUlead Photo Express2SEhave a look in the AddRemove Programs Applet in the Control Panel. If you can still see the application listed as being installed then have a look in HKLMSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUninstall and remove anything that looks related in there. There should only be one key. Reboot and you should be able to re-install your application
  15. Shock therapy, do they still use that!
