  1. just had a report submitted from my brother who has been at south Walsham (norfolk)fishing bream to 9lbs and lots of smaller bream all falling to the method. apparently he cant do no wrong and is not going home tonight as fishing is so good, oh and hes pulling a sickie from work tomorrow
  2. but i think colin has said he just want to leave the whole episode behind and move on, why drag it through the courts for compensaton? i agree something should be said about the roadworthiness of the coaches which i belive can be done very simply without fear of reprisals, if you need further advice on how to do this i would recommend the CAB or citizens advice. I think id be of the same thinking as just leave it behind,
  3. well you done the right thing m8, best of out of there. Plus if there is any up side atleast you can get on the river more often
  4. is that my spinner in the picture?
  5. did i miss out on these samples? Im always having trouble with royal mail. What i do now is when i sell something on eba i only ever send it insured but it is expensive and its a cost i bear myself as i know what its like to be told well i posted and then you get into all sorts of arguments. Maybe in long run insured post might work out cheaper?
  6. im in the none of the above vote or Elton for PM and a angling and countryside sports party, one where they actually try to restore the countryside populations way of life instead of ripping the heart out of the community, ban this ban that cant use this no more cnat do that, And they wonder why they say the country is getting obeese its because anything we use to do 20 years ago is now banned or got so many regulations and laws its just inpractical. Fottball will be banned next because it encourages binge drinking and unruley behavoiur. Sorry rant over
  7. dont worry andy i thought it as Tropical storms
  8. or fish of the bottom, try to avoid any meat based bait and for some reason i found red groundbait attracts them as well ?
  9. yeah ok we lost and we lost in the worse way possible we had good first half then threw it away. Watch for the riots tonight in portugal, cant the so called fans behave for once? just seen on news they already at it. ITS ONLY A GAME
  10. there is a few just google search for online bait in uk theres loads worms direct get my vote
  11. well another thing i always do is test the line before i go, by pulling about 20 foot of the spool and just trying to snap it (dont try with braid or 20lb mono) if you get my drift or you be going to the A+E not fishing if the line feels right, not rough or gritty in the fingers and you are happy with the strength then use it. Mono these days is quiet resiliant to sunlight and the like, the best i found is the berkley one, ill post the name of it when i go and have a look
  12. on my float reel i change the line when i think it needs it maybe every 3 months or so. 1 trick to prolong the life other than keeping it in the fridge (think my wife is like peters) is to slide the narrow silicon tube on your line in little lengths and crimp your shot around that rather than the line. On my ledger reels depending on venue it may get changed after 1 trip if its a rocky or stoned bottomed place or every 4 trips if its got a good layer of silt
  13. we're not talking about shops, we're talking about post offices, a valuable service in rural areas, not profit making enterprises. sure they try to make money from other sides of the business (most of them are small shops too now) but the post office side of the enterprise is judged on number of transactions / customers not turnover Nope since the post office got privatised its a shop, business, got to make money or the big wigs will close it. Dont get me wrong, i know the are a vaulable asset in any area. Im just stating the fact that even if we all get our licenses from local post offices, its not going to stop them " streamlining" there business. Its a fact in modern retail world
  14. about half a mile well untill the cliff collapses again then knowing my luck about 2 foot
  15. i got a usb modem and its networked to another pc but i got it runningon ethernet ( with me so far) i got 1 pc with modem plugged into the back then i got a ethernet cable from that pc to another. pain in the a... took a day to configure and 20 mins to knacker it. i echo those comments about routers etc etc
  16. or hes very good with the computer and got one of those new software packages that makes legal letters. He wont be getting any money if he wins as what he gets will be in one hand and out of the other
  17. if the shop is not profitable then it will close down. Its a business so its all about making money. they wont keep throwing money at a losing cause. Sad as it may seem but thats the be all and end of all in business.
  18. i fish a place in Deal where you have to show your license or get chased of by one rather rugged looking farmer and a 12 bore. Anyone who holds a license can ask to see someone elses so why cant the thoughtfull amongst us ask others for theres?
  19. save the local post office? How much do you think they earn for selling a fishing license? it will be under 10p then after tax etc etc nothing. The only reason post offices sell them is because the government asked them to andin the hope of secondery sells, stamps etc etc. Theone who is killing the post office is all the big wigs in parliment who get paid far to much money, saying that all benifeit has to be paid via the bank. And theonly reason they dothis is beacuse it SAVES THEM money. rant over btw i do get mine from post office only because i get it the day i am going fishing after april 1 and i dont like the thoughtof having to explain why i not got my license with me. Also i can send the wife to get it for me
  20. have a look here http://www.dragoncarpdirect.com/ some great reels and buy 1 get 1 free at moment (watch delivery tho)
  21. i think the main bit they are reffering to is in between the old potter heigham bridge (the low one) and the main fly over bridge as there is overhead wires that cross there. Ive had some good fish from there as well
  22. I work in a call centre, its in England and staying in England. Alot of the companies who outscourced found that whilst cost is cheaper avg wage for indian graduate is about 4k out there where we pay joe bloggs of street 12500pa. Have moved back to the uk because even though the cost of running is cheaper they are losing more general sales because of the service customers receive on the phone, also the huhge increase in costs to the call centres. Over here i know when people phone us they get of the phone usually happy, problems have been resolved and they have been understood with excatly what they are saying. My contact centre had to change a little to keep it within the companys budget but now we take 5000 calls a day provide internet support, customer services, telesales, special requests and VIP bookings. So we no longer just a call centre but deal with just about every point of contact to us. Phone india and tell me what you get?
  23. i have AoHELL sorry i mean AOL broadband, its ok but nothing special and VERY expensive for what you get. if its mainly text based browsing you do then i belive tiscali does a 128k a 150k a 256k and so on. If you stay with them and find the 128k is not fast enough or if peggy hosts her website from home you can always increase the speed of the line however you wont be able to decrease the speed. Another thing to look at is some ISPS have no implemented a bandwidth cap bt is 1 gig i think, seems alot but if hosting a site its nothing, i use about 2 gig for my site a month. sorry if its not much help steve but keep away from AOL
  24. quote: pike to 30lb (can't fish for them until I have attended/passed a course through the club) im impressed if only more clubs did this, all to often come october time i see people fishing for pike without a clue of how to handle them or the correct gear to handle them.
