Complete fluke, but I will count it anyway :)

Top snake, Den boy!

Just think, mate; when that big ol' eel was born, me an' you had fringes, mush!

*Gazes into far distance...weeps quietly*

:D

And on the eighth day God created carp fishing...and he saw that it was pukka.

Cracking Eel Den, it's the first time i've seen one that big in ages.

That fake corn eh! I never feel confident using a rubber bait for some reason but they keep producing the goods!

No matter how big they get you always know it's an eel - that unmistakable head thrashing. Get's my adrenaline pumping everytime :D

Well done, what a stunning fish!

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

Lovely fish Den.

I remember hooking one similar when I was in my early teens. Landing net not up :wallbash: . My mate waded in and tried picking it up from the edge, it was draped over both arms, and looked like a conger to me! Then it decided that was it and slid off, hook came out, and my mate ended up face down in the water! Never had one anything like it since.

Fake corn eh? I can see a bit more head scratching from the 'Wingham Breamers' is in order. :D

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

That's quite a snake there Den, They always turn up when you least expect them. Who'd of thought it would pick up a bit of yellow plastic.

Bind my wounds, And bring me a fresh horse.

Yep, still grinning. Not so much at what I caught, but mostly about HOW I caught it....................and the other fish that day.................and for the previous six weeks :)

I might tell you all about the thinking and scheming in another thread.
