Just to add some weight to the hypothosis, when I lived on Muck, a population of 35 managed to have 3 days on which 2 people shared a birthday. Mine being one of them.

 

In addition I share my birthday with my brother-in-law.

For people over 40 there should be a higher percentage born in the spring. This was because children born before the end of the tax year gave rise to the largest income tax rebate.
