Britain's largest carp Two Tone has died:

Will the Anglers Net community be awash with grief or do you find the whole big carp scene a bit of a circus?

He was an old man who fished alone in a skiff in the Gulf Stream and he had gone eighty-four days without taking a fish. (Hemingway - The old man and the sea)

Supposed to be a hoax.

It certainly isn't a hoax this time, Rob. There's a little bit about it in the carp forum below.

Two Tone's death is the main topic of conversation on the Cemex Angling Forum Carp Fishing Chat...

Apologies to Elton for sending people elsewhere but have a look at the link below. People on the forum are taking the news very seriously...

I posted a link on our Facebook page on Saturday - http://www.facebook.com/AnglersNet - to the discussion about it on Mid-Kent's forum:

This was after Budgie mentioned it here, in our carp forum.

No need to go over the top SP. A unique fish, and worthy of a little respect, bit as always on AN there will be the usual carp haters.

Most living things are unique and the only sure thing in life is death........

I'm sure there will be a bigger one along some time soon.

Its not the fish thats hated if not too strong a term, its the hype and multi-million pound industry that it spawns and the extortionate amounts lake and fishery owners can get away with charging if they happen to have a major specimen.
