Independance for Scotland?

Recommended Posts

Nothing to do with the people mate, just the politicians who are not telling the people the truth.............nothing new I suppose.

There's always been a lot of (political) English bashing from the smaller UK countries. Personally I find that offensive. In my view we should stick together as the UK, get out of Europe and continue as a Union alone. It's plain to see that we have the aggression and sense of purpose to get things done. Now, with devolution and Europe we're just being pulled apart!

HMMMM just as a thought did we join the EU as Britain or all the countries separately IE if Scotland becomes independent does this mean we are free of our European masters at last?

Alex Salmond to meet Scottish Secretary Michael Moore

Scottish Secretary Michael Moore is set to meet Alex Salmond to discuss SNP demands for more economic powers after last week's Scottish election.

It will be their first face-to-face discussion since the SNP secured a majority in the Scottish Parliament.

The talks are expected to focus on SNP calls for Holyrood to be given more ''economic teeth'' in the Scotland Bill currently going through Westminster...........

A good question Chesters. We joined as the UK so I don't know how a 'split' would proceed. Interesting idea mate!

In the 1975 referendum on whether to stay in the EEC, the only UK areas to vote against it were the Shetlands and the Western Isles!

I agree, that's a very interesting point. We are classed as the UK in all the stuff I've read.

Would it at least call for a referendum, I wonder?

I think we would have a bigger turnout than the 64%, under the last one, by the then Labour Government.

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

Thats been known about for ages.

I think the Scottish people will end up as an autonomous region, as say Catalunia in Spain, to avoid the question arriving.

No way the English politicians, except for a few eccentrics will want out.

But what about the people?

They will probably make the judgement, that most of them are so influenced by the media you have, that they cant make an informed opinion on facts.

Sounds awful. I would like to qualify that it wouldn't affect me in any way whatever you did. I'm just commenting as an "independent" observer.

And, unfortunately, probably only too true :wallbash:

The English people should think long and hard about what they are asking for before they turn their back on a market of half a million people. Personally I think that an oil rich Independent Scotland, in the EU and in the Eurozone would do very well if England and Wales were to pull out of the EU.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

My origional question why they want independance from the u k yet not from the E U, not being secular and selfish at the same time are they?

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..
