There was a letter in the Metro free newspaper today from someone who felt that independance for Scotland would be terible because it would help the Tories to win elections.

Now I'm not taking any party political position but the guy really hadn't thought that one through.

Basically, he was saying that it would be a bad thing if the English got a government that the majority of English people voted for.

Erm...what's wrong with that ?

Nothing at all......be even better if the politicians were English as well :headhurt:

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

Isn't this the point where our Scottish members repost and suddenly everything gets nasty ?

 

we're just letting you all moan about money and oil and i dont really want to discuss the subject with the members who are , in a roundabout way, calling us Scots scroungers & leaches. cheers guys thought i knew you all better. :thumbs:

Don't you bother about it Andy, according to some, anyone north of Watford is a "scrounger and a leech". They think we rely on the 'money lenders' of the Metropolis to exist. :rolleyes:

:thumbs: Good comment. It's a well known fact that the only people who work hard are those in the South East. (Well known in the South East anyway.) They base this assumption on the fact that they earn twice as much for the same job so, in their minds, they obviously must be twice as good at the job. It never occurs to them that the monkey with a wrench calling himself a plumber who they pay £50 for a callout wouldn't last a day in the job in the rest of the country.

A bit like a Belgian if you were fluent.

i never think of Belgians at all :D

Nothing to do with the people mate, just the politicians who are not telling the people the truth.............nothing new I suppose.

 

There's always been a lot of (political) English bashing from the smaller UK countries. Personally I find that offensive. In my view we should stick together as the UK, get out of Europe and continue as a Union alone. It's plain to see that we have the aggression and sense of purpose to get things done. Now, with devolution and Europe we're just being pulled apart!
