Winter Warmers

quite right! but if you pile on the layers without thought to their purpose then you will sweat. then the sweat stays put and you get cold. gore-tex takes the sweat away. hence you stay warm. sorry if you already know all this.

I doubted Gore-tex until I went skiing in -25 degree temps with added wind chill and my little fingers were like toast mmmmmmm in my new Gore-tex gloves. Its not cheap but it works.

I have found the answer to cold feet!! keep a watch in charity shops or footware shops for MOONBOOTS!! They have a nice 'grippy' sole and the boots normally have a foam insert which keep ypur feet loveley and warm :D:rolleyes::D:rolleyes:

I recently bought a set of Polartec thermals from fourth element for wearing under my diving drysuit. They're wind proof and still keep you warm when wet, plus the wick away any moisture like goretex. £124 for a complete set including longjohns, top, socks and a beanie hat...

I'm off mulleting in them later, and it looks freezin' outside, so I'll see how they do!
