I'm not changing anything. The name given to the game by its international governing body is good enough for me.

Bigfishy - I don't actually have any views on UK soccer.

 

I find the game at the professional level sorta like I find baseball at the professional level - too boring to bother with no matter where it is played and I am sure I've never even watched a UK match. I'd about as soon spend time watching grass grow or paint dry as watching pro soccer.

 

 

I agree with Newt, soccer, football whatever is totally boring, worse than watching paint dry, fishing now thats another subject, All those who can have a conversation about the round ball game, kicked and headed and bash into each other in a spectacular way, especially in the penalty area, must be right saddos. :P

So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

'Rugger'...I havn't heard that term since I last read a 'public schoolboy story'. It's amost always applied to 'union' played by the middle classes (and the services) and taught to unwilling boys (well around here anyway) by middle class games teachers.

 

The game of choice in this area is rugby leauge... known simply as 'leauge'. it's a faster and more entertaining game than union.

I just happen to know that Newt is not a fan of baseball.

Emma - to back up a tiny bit, what I said was that I've not ever watched UK soccer/football/whatever-you-call-it (two UK teams playing each other). I did try several times to watch matches on TV including one year's World Cup and at least one other international match where one team was from the UK but never a match between two UK teams. I even took one more try at this year's Olympics to see if I'd missed something. Nope. Still right up there with watching paint dry or grass grow.

 

That's not to say it isn't a wonderful sport - just that I find it boring and do not enjoy watching it.

 

I enjoy

- Little League baseball (kids 10-12)

- College basketball

- Professional US football (the sort played with a pointy ends ball and rarely with the feet

 

I can usually watch Pro basketball and college football (pointy balls)
