I left the site 48 hours ago looking 1999, yesterday I had silly" you have to log in" messages firing up and 401 error,s.

 

Today logged in as normal and was hit by a 2020 site, what the hell has happened and Elton were did you get the time to do this.

 

As an aside it would have been good to know that this radical facelift was going to happen we may have had some good idea,s.

There's lots of skins from IPB , some are very expensive and some are free.

Ther's also lots of apps to go with it, all cost money though.

After thinking that I had picked up some 'nasty', and couldn't get on AN, it came as a bit of a shock to see the new layout. Like ayjay, it's going to take me a while to get used to it, (it seens so bright).

As most of you know I'm a bit stuck in my ways, so I'm only posting this to see if I still can.
_{Not ^{Sure What}} all the new _{gizmos do But I'll} work it all out eventually I'm sure.

The main reason it took so long is because the database table for the posts is huge, with over 1.34 million entries, A table that size you cannot use any php script to upgrade because it will time out. So I had to do it all via SSH (Secure Shell). Even then it took over 6 hours to optimize the table as there was a massive overhead and kept maxing out the temp folder.

So a few tweaks to the server was needed

 

Then once the upgrade was complete, Elton had to rebuild the posts via the Admin panel, this could only be done 1000 at a time, so as you could probably imagine, it took a while lol.

 

 

Yes, there are a lot of tweaks and errors/bugs to be done/fixed, and they'll be done over the next week or so.
