nothing will surprise me if labour is in power

I hope Jeepster's right, but if either the Green party, the rspca or the national trust gain any major increase in influence in the future, we most certainly have a problem.

If we keep letting the 'anti's gain ground then coarse angling could be gone in 10 - Look at what happened in Germany!

I'm not sure about your reference to Germany. The sport there is still strong (3.3 million anglers, some 4% of the population), notwithstanding the prohibition on catch and release of mature fish. This was not a move by what we would recognise as 'antis'; it was the 'greens' (wot dun it).

 

There is little chance of an outright UK ban on angling in the next decade; there ARE real threats to our rights and practices through restrictions. That's what some of us spend so much time countering.
