The barrow is next for mods to see if I can get to a stage of one trip instead of two but I think that will be a bridge too far.

 

Ah, now if you want to improve my barrow for me, it's all yours! Extending it forwards so more weight can be put over/beyond the wheels would make it 10 time easier to push...

Just a thought regarding bobbin string/wire etc. I've been looking at sink/ bath plug chain as it's pretty much tangle free, a good weight and suppl'ish and is very cheap at B&Q and other hardwear shops. You can buy it in whatever lengths you want, you cut your own.

Now, that is a bridge too far, had a look at the Argos website but to put front outriggers on I think would be a bit of a problem with regards to location and strength otherwise I would have a go. f you want the double wheel arrangement where you can balance the load in front of and over the wheels, these dont look too bad

I have just ordered some cheap Gardner hangers at £3.99 each from England Angling nothing fancy but I need a few long bobbins for Bream fishing later on in the year. They come with the sink/bath plug chain and it looks like it will be a simple job to remove the current chains and extend the length with new chains from a hardware store.

 

It will not be anything as technical as the bobbins others are working on, but it will get me up and running with a solution to the fact that my Carp bobbins are far to short for big Bream fishing.

They certainly do :D

 

Funny that, I got those same Gardner bobbins and thought the chain could do with being longer.

To attach extra weight to the bobbin I've tied a short peice of mono to the split ring on the bottom of the bobbin so you can add split shot etc.

Sink chains do work well (Wickes is a good place for long lengths of them). The reason I stopped using it is because in the longer lengths it got a bit heavy, but to be honest these days I prefer a bit of weight on the bobbins when bream fishing. I use my bobbins for everything though (including sneaky perch), so I swapped to using hollow leadcore which I'm really pleased with.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music
