Political violence

Recommended Posts

Nigel Farage, Carl Benjamin and Tommy Robinson have all been assaulted while engaged in campaigning for political office.

So far, there have been no consequences for the attackers.

Jeremy Corbyn was also egged in March but his attacker got 28 days in jail.
Where do we draw the line?
Or do we just accept that the fate of Jo cox and Pim Fortuyn is just the inevitable price of running for public office?

Maybe all a consequence of wanting to be in the limelight & not wanting a proper job??

Tragic all the same when someone loses their life over it.

Ken,

I'm old enough to attribute disrespect to a lack of consequences. Both at home and in public. A sense of entitlement comes with a sense of responsibility.

Perhaps the saddest part of you initial post is that 3 out of 4 "got away" with it.

Whilst extremely liberal (a snowflake if you will) I don't take kindly to anyone being trodden on. I believe in corporal punishment in the public square and capitol punishment carried out on national TV broadcasts.

"I have a dream" didn't end well...

For all the media hysteria, both Carl and Tommy are self identifying liberals.

What a ridiculous comment.

Is your usual shtick about demanding a second referendum starting to sound a little hollow in view of recent opinion polls.

I suspect that you're not alone and that much of the violence that we are seeing is people who know that pro-remain parties are going to be destroyed on Thursday having a tantrum because they've lost all the arguments.

This is the standard of discourse:

Ofcourse he will disapear into thin air his job will be done as it was the last time ,the only problem he has is a split vote with UKIP which may distort the final count

Unfortunately politics is infected with leeches intent on getting voted in at all count ,if UKIP want out then disband and vote brexit party UKIP has already did what it promised last time ,let the brexit party rub the others noses in the mire they caused

Little will change the same bits of scum will be seen in parliament and party politics will be over and above what the masses want ,it always has been it always will until the party system is abolished
