I will have to accept the challenge "freehand". Ike, a war hero would have won regardless of party. The supporting "players" were Henry Ford, H L Hunt, J Paul Getty, and the new kid Howard Hughes (as I remember).

It is not meant to be disparaging but Trump in that era  1952 could not generate the momentum to get the Republican nomination. If in such a fairytale he was elected the generation (my grandparents and parents) probably would have  tolerated him out of respect for the presidency but not by choice. Products of 1929 the two generations in question took care of their own but were rarely disrespectful of authority.

My first political remembrances was the Democratic Convention in 1948. Not because I was interested in politics but we had a television and it was televised! By 1952, Ike's first term, America was in a pretty passive mood that lasted until the 1956 slump in the economy.

So it starts it had to happen law suits against at the government from NHS workers it’s those in charge who should be held accountable  for there failings and there are failings a very sad state of affairs  .

PPE not upto standard under health and safety regulations , and PPE not up to  standard under WHO standards .An employer has a duty of care for there employees sad to say the government are up there neck in it and it should go all the way to to the top the buck stops there .

The government dont buy ppe for the NHS the NHS do,they also make the rules and contracts

There are many different factors but some deny any responsibility whatsoever , as they always say the buck stops at the top it is them who have most influence and this case is even more so .Timing is massive in a pandemic of this proportion l the government acted to slow there is plenty who work in NHS who will back that to the core .

Why? The government hand over money ,the ministries allocate it and nhs managers spend it ,whats so hard to understand?

How is it you blame the government because the nhs dont have enough stock? The government dont buy stock the nhs do ,why not blame the nhs managers?

Why? You have been shown the government increase the money year on year how can they be responsible if managers within the  NHS misspend it?

Perhaps ward sisters cannot be bothered to keep their stock fully err stocked, you're putting your blame on the wrong people and letting the real villains get off the hook.

Next you will be telling me the government have a clip board for every stock cupboard in every hospital in the country and check the inventory is full ,you really need to look at yourself your hate of the tories is clouding your judgement

One very simple answer who is in charge of the health service .Who's job is it manage the running of the health service so why do we have a health secretary the buck finishes at the top they have to  take responsibility.

He doesnt run it he is put in charge of it the ministry of health run it and are responsible for it ,next week he could be head of immigration or a back bencher head of nothing

He says to the next man down make it work and his job is done ,unless you think hes got a clipboard checking thousands of people below him are telling their staff to do stuff.

He wont be punished ,most of those not doing their jobs below him wont be punished ,would you like a porter sacked? Thats about the only person who will be punished ,useless waste of skin NHS managers wont lose their jobs they never do

If you think people in power get punished for mistakes ,blair would have been hung for getting us into an illegal war that killed thousands of women and kids ,brown paying back billions he misspent and ted heath would have been publically flogged for getting us in the EEC ,they are fine ,probably far more wealthy (except heath hes a bit dead) and just bad as they ever were.

Theres hundreds of thousand of people all over the world that could be blamed but its a worldwide problem even china ran out of ppe and they make half of it ,its very easy to blame someone for a thing that was never invisisaged and turned what we thought was adaquate supplies of ppe on its head it wasnt just your hated tories it was every government on earth that had coranavirus the demand outstripped supply its extremely simple .As to not closing the borders in 1903 when flight was envisaged that down to every government since that its your subsidised aircraft you boast about that caused the problem!

Yes the government acted slowly and it was possibly because they were advised to act slowly so why not blame the advisers but not a word just the tory and the hate you have of it
